Campus Living

This photoshoot required careful coordination, patience, and a close eye on the forecast. We worked to align campus access, stakeholder schedules, and a narrow window during winter break, all while waiting out December’s unpredictable weather. With only a brief opening to shoot, the clouds finally broke and the sun washed across the campus, revealing the architecture in a way that felt almost cinematic. Sometimes the best images come from equal parts planning and being ready when the moment arrives.

Located adjacent to Hayward Field, the New Residence and Yasui Hall place student housing at the center of University of Oregon campus life. Quiet interior courtyards provide moments of retreat, while the exterior palette, modern metal panels paired with solid brick masonry by Kraft Masonry, creates a durable and contemporary presence.

Subtle accents in school colors appear around entrances and windows, adding identity without overpowering the architecture. Photographing the project emphasized how material restraint and thoughtful detailing can support both community and longevity in campus housing.
