Cleared for Takeoff

We had our sights set on Silverback Winery for a while, waiting for the landscaping around the tasting room to fill in before bringing cameras out. Working alongside The GOAT and Ag Agency, we set out to capture both the architecture and the marketing side of this hilltop spot just outside Silverton.

Our first shoot day got rained out entirely. When we came back for round two, the whole valley was socked in with clouds, thick enough that we wondered if we'd get anything at all. Then, right on schedule, the sky burned off in the afternoon and handed us a sunset we couldn't have planned better if we'd tried.

The tasting room itself sits on a hill with sweeping views across the valley, an earthy lodge-style building that gives visitors plenty of ways to settle in. There are tables inside, a seating nook by the fireplace, and covered porches wrapping the exterior so you can post up outside no matter the weather. It's the kind of building that rewards a slow visit, whether that's a tasting flight with friends or just watching the light change over the vines.
