Our Path Forward
On assignment for Pence/Kelly Concrete at the new Bend High School, with clear light and a full campus to cover. Courtyards, outdoor gathering spaces, sidewalks, and the parking lot all needed to read as one connected site rather than a list of separate pours.
Concrete rarely gets top billing on a project like this, but it shapes how students move through campus and where they choose to stop and sit. Good flatwork and careful detailing turn circulation into community space. A community that invests in its schools is investing in our path forward, and in this case Pence/Kelly poured that path in the most literal sense. Students will be walking it for decades. That was the story to photograph, and it gives Pence/Kelly a set of images they can use well past this project.
